Work Service as partner of the European Economic Congress

This year's 6th edition of the European Economic Congress (EEC) took place on 7-9 May in Katowice, Poland. In the form of an open debate, a circle of opinion-forming specialists discuss the vital issues of Europe's development. Each year, the course of the Congress is followed by a few hundred journalists. Sessions and debates are monitored by trade experts and well-known economic columnists. Work Service representatives had an opportunity to share their knowledge and expertise during two interesting sessions. Tomasz Hanczarek, the President of the Management Board of Work Service, took part in the discussion "Migrations in today's Europe. Labour market in EU. Labour market in Poland." The session entitled "Global expansion of Polish companies: practical view" was participated by Tomasz Misiak, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Work Service.

The European Economic Congress in Katowice is a three-day cycle of debates and meetings gathering six thousand guests from Poland, Europe and the whole world. The Congress, consisting of almost a hundred sessions, is participated by a few hundred speakers, EU commissioners, representatives of European governments, presidents of the largest companies, scientists and practitioners, decision-makers, who all have an actual influence on the economic and social reality.

The speakers of this year's 6th European Economic Congress included Elżbieta Bieńkowska, deputy prime minister, minister of infrastructure and development of the Republic of Poland; Jerzy Buzek, member of the European Parliament, former president of the EP, Honorary Chairman of the Patron Committee of EEC; Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, minister of labour and social policy of the Republic of Poland; Jan Kulczyk, chairman of the supervisory board of Kulczyk Investments, founder of the CEED Institute; Dan Mullaney, main negotiator representing the USA; Janusz Piechociński, deputy prime minister, minister of Economy of the Republic of Poland; Mateusz Szczurek, minister of finance of the Republic of Poland; Donald Tusk, prime minister of the Republic of Poland; and Lech Wałęsa, former president of the Republic of Poland in 1990-1995.

The 2014 European Economic Congress in Katowice was participated by representatives of the largest Polish companies and global brands. 

The main topics of the Congress included: Europe in view of the challenges of global competition, new finances of the EU, industrial policy, energetic safety and common energy market, migrations, labour market, the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), and the global expansion of Polish companies (Asia, Africa).
