Work Service the golden sponsor of the 5-th ABSL Conference

On 22-23 May 2014 in Poznan within the Poznan Congress Center, took place the 5th  ABSL Conference,  the most important event of the business services sector in the CEE region. The 5th  ABSL Conference went under the slogan "Poland - Taking on the World". The Conference coincided with the milestones - the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the June election of 1989, and the 10th anniversary of Polish accession to the European Union. It was a great opportunity to look at the development of the Polish economy in recent decades and its, still unutilized, potential. Work Service was a Gold Sponsor of the event.

The Special Guest at the Fifth ABSIL Conference was Madeleine Albright, former US Secretary of State and one of the most respected personalities of the international political scene. On May 23, the second day of the Conference, she gave a speech, and answered questions from the audience during the Q & A session. Madeleine Albright underlined that the changes which took place in Poland in the course of the last 25 years can be a model for other countries. As one of the manifestations of the Poland’s success she mentioned the  spectacular development of the business services sector.

In the course of a two-day conference both the business leaders and representatives of the world’s most reputable analytical companies spoke. Among the speakers were, inter alia,   Tomasz Ślęzak and Ewa Misiak. On the first day of the Conference, Ewa Misiak took part in the debate "Exploring undiscovered potential - new services for GBS organizations"  

Tomasz Ślęzak, a few minutes before the occurrence of herself the Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright, gave a 15 minute presentation "Smart Care Solutions – an innovative approach to employee benefits; Find out how innovative HR systems and employee benefits systems can enhance your company's operations and boost company's satisfaction." The presentation is enclosed.

One of the most important events of the conference was presentation of the report "Business services sector in Poland in 2014." The key findings of the study were presented by Marek Grodziński, Vice President of ABSL. The ABSL Report is an essential source of information for investors, stakeholders of the sector and public institutions seeking reliable data on one of the most dynamically developing branches of the Polish economy. According to the data published in the report, the 470 service centers with foreign capital currently operating in Poland employ approximately 128 000 professionals.

The two-day meeting of the industry leaders ended with a discussion on the future of the sector in Europe and the importance of ABSL for the development of this industry. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Peter Peters, Expert Principal, McKinsey & Company, while panelists were the representatives of the ABSL in Poland, Paweł Panczyj - Managing Director, Czech Republic, Jonathan Appleton - General Secretary and Board Member of ABSL Czech Republic and of Romania - Alexander Weigl, President of ABSL in Romania.
